We are thrilled to be hosting Rabbi Michael Strassfeld, who will join in conversation with Rabbi Toba about his new book: Judaism Disrupted: A Spiritual Manifesto for the 21st Century. R. Strassfeld writes: "My book begins with the premise that Judaism isn't about being a good Jew. Instead, Judaism offers wisdom and practices on how to take the most precious gift we have been given — our lives — and live with meaning and purpose. Judaism Disrupted sets out eleven core principles that can serve as a guide for life’s journey. These principles offer ways for cultivating such qualities as gratitude and satisfaction and for deepening a commitment to social justice and to this planet." Judaism Disrupted is an invitation to move beyond some of the rabbinic paradigms of what Judaism is, and opens a conversation for reimagining Jewish practice and community.
Rabbi Michael Strassfeld is the rabbi emeritus of the Society for the Advancement of Judaism. This year marks the 50th anniversary of his best-selling first book, the Jewish Catalog.
