GBIO Delegates Assembly
Thursday, June 23, 2022 • 24 Sivan 5782
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
We are more ready than ever to make this event a CELEBRATION of our leaders and achievements this year, a moment of ACTION on issue team priorities that are hot right now, and a moment to share a unifying VISION for our future in the months and years ahead.
A few highlights:
-
Two co-chairs representing legacy and future: GBIO chair Rev. Burns Stanfield of Fourth Presbyterian, and Donniece Watsono of Crossroads Counseling Services, a returning citizen leader and co-chair of the GBIO Reentry Campaign Steering Team
-
New returning citizen leaders will push for a public commitment to action from Undersecretary Andrew Peck of Public Safety, to make sure everyone coming out of prison gets at least their damn ID when they leave incarceration!
-
We'll hear the story of how GBIO Brookline built relationship and power across race and class, from working class immigrants in public housing to white homeowners, to get roaches out of units and win millions of dollars in public housing repairs
-
We will celebrate hard-fought victories in the Boston City Budget, including historic investments in reentry, homeownership, and public housing, that could not have happened without GBIO's organizing - and we will celebrate our partnership with public officials like Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune, and potentially Mayor Wu and Councilor Kenzie Bok
-
We will look forward to a vision of power building and state action in the coming months, including opportunities to take immediate action on affordable housing and mental health
Again, please register at bit.LY/JuneGBIO, and feel free contact Louise Enoch at lpenoch@gmail.com with any questions.
