Whether you have a beginner’s knowledge of Hebrew or have yet to learn the Alef-Bet, join us for a basic Hebrew reading class. We will review consonants and vowels, practice decoding words and phrases, and then focus on recognizing common prayerbook Hebrew words in order to build confidence with the siddur.
Participants will be asked to purchase the workbook Aleph Isn't Enough, but if purchase of the workbook is a financial barrier, we will happily cover it. This class will take place during Sunday Religious School hours, but it is also open to the broader CDT community, not just Religious School parents! Please register on the Adult Education webpage.
If you are interested in a higher level Hebrew class, please fill out this form.

DecDecember 16 , 2025GBIO House Meeting
Tuesday, Dec 16th 7:00p to 8:00p
Join us at the home of a CDT member for an intentional, focused, small-group conversation, known as a House Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for members of the CDT community to share their experiences with an issue or pressure that you or your community are facing. With so much that is hard in the world these days, our hope is that this is a place to safely air your lived experience or concerns. The session will be led by a member of CDT's Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) team. Through House Meetings, we get to know each other deeply, support one another, and may even lay the groundwork for GBIO's next major campaign. Come as you are! No preparation required, and no prior experience necessary. -

DecDecember 18 , 2025Festival of Daughters
Thursday, Dec 18th 6:00p to 7:00p
On the Shabbat of Channukah, Jewish communities that trace their roots back to the Middle East and North Africa will celebrate the Festival of the Daughters, commemorating the Channukah heroine Judith. Join Alyx Bernstein after Dorshei Lights at 6pm on Thursday, December 18th to meet this extraordinary woman who defended the Jewish people in a time of oppression. We'll explore how the story of Judith, first written by Jews in the first century BCE, has emerged and reemerged as a story of resistance, Jewish strength, and powerful womanhood over the centuries, and how this lesser-known heroine's legacy shapes our Channukah celebrations today. -
