Gala FAQs

Since COVID is still unfortunately a consideration, we know that many
of you have questions about how we will address these risks. We
hope that this FAQ will give you information that will help you as you
make your plans.

Do I need to test before I come?

For extra precaution, we are asking that everyone take a Covid home test some time before the event on Saturday.  If you forget, we will have tests available when you arrive. Please do not come if you are exhibiting flu or Covid symptoms (the most recent CDC list of symptoms can be found here).

What is the schedule for the evening?
Doors open at 6:30pm, and there will be a havdallah ritual at 6:50pm.  At 7 pm, we
will begin our formal program, which will last about an hour (the program will also be livestreamed). We ask that everyone remain masked through this portion of the program.

At approximately 8pm, time, we will celebrate with dancing, food, and drink for the remainder
of the evening.

Is the entire event inside?
The event will take place indoors. Tables and chairs will be available
outdoors for those who do not feel comfortable eating indoors.

Will masks and COVID testing be required to attend the event?
From 7-8 pm, we ask that everyone wear masks.  At 8 pm, masking
will be optional, for purposes of eating and drinking.

How is the food to be set up?
We are having a food station and passed hors d’oeuvres as well as a
dessert buffet in addition to a bar, coffee and tea service.

Will the event be streamed or recorded?
The program portion of the event, which takes place from 7 to 8 PM, will be
live streamed to those who register for this option. We are asking $45 per
computer link for those who sign up to cover our expense. However,
whatever your ability to pay, if this is the option that provides you the
greatest COVID safety, please sign up and pay what you comfortably can.

We will not be recording the event

Is this an adult event?
Yes, while we love our children, the in-person event is geared toward
adults. We hope to have an additional opportunity in the coming weeks to celebrate with our kids!

You can donate online via the Giving page.

Donating Securities

One great way to support CDT and gain tax advantages at the same time is to donate appreciated securities to the congregation. This may allow you to claim the full value of the gift as a charitable contribution, while avoiding any capital gains taxes that might otherwise apply. You can learn more about this option at this link or by talking to your financial advisor or accountant.

If you would like to donate appreciated securities to CDT, please contact Executive Director Melissa Colten or Treasurer Jennifer Levine-Fried for details of how to make the gift. And thanks!
