Community Tikkun Leil Shavuot
Tuesday, June 11, 2024 • 5 Sivan 5784
8:00 PM - 4:00 AM Next DayKehillat Israel (484 Harvard Street, Brookline)Shavuot, the "Festival of Weeks," comes seven weeks after Passover, and marks the mythic moment of receiving Torah on Mount Sinai. The evening of the holiday is traditionally marked by late-night Torah study, and the idea that at midnight the heavens ope and we each receive the Torah, the wisdom, that is destined for us this year. A Tikkun Leil Shavuot is an all-night learning extravaganza, celebrating Jewish learning and culture, and we are glad to once again be joining with other local synagogues at this community tikkun in Coolidge Corner. For more information, go to https://sites.google.com/view/shavuotbrookline/home.
For those who would prefer to Zoom, Temple Israel is hosting a virtual Tikkun beginning at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11 until the end of the last session at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12. The Tikkun will also feature "Tiny Desk"-style musical offerings. For more information, go to www.tisrael.org/shabbat-holidays/holidays-jewish-practice-at-home/shavuot/.
