As we celebrate Shabbat HaChodesh, marking the beginning of the month of Nisan and the start of our journey towards freedom on Passover, all are invited to join us for an intergenerational morning of Shabbat activities! We'll begin together at 10 am in the CDT sanctuary and on Zoom for morning songs and blessings with Rabbi Toba, and then at about 10:25 am there will be options including:
Art Workshop with Jenn Guptill and Zoe Stark: In a celebration of Spring, you'll have the opportunity to make a collaborative mural about spring, books that "spring" containing drawings or writing about spring, and spring bird paintings. No art experience necessary!
Move like Miriam! - Movement/Dance Exploration with Sara Ulanet: Moving and dancing to music in community is a great way to free our bodies and minds from stress. To mark this time in our story when the Jews were preparing for liberation, you will be led through a fun and stress-relieving movement exploration. No dance experience needed--all ages/abilities welcome!
Bibliodrama with rabbinic intern Beck Epstein: Shabbat HaChodesh marked the start of the Israelites' journey out of Mitzrayim, the "narrow place," as they came together to make the sacrifice of the paschal lamb. Some say that this coming together to take action is the real miracle of Passover!Join Beck for a fun, interactive session where we’ll explore Shabbat HaChodesh and what it takes to act together through bibliodrama and dramatic play.
Morning service & Torah study with Rabbi Toba in the CDT sanctuary and on Zoom.
At 11:20am we will gather back together for Torah reading, as we end the book of Exodus. We will also be remembering CDT rebbetzin Gina Fried and CDT member Marvin Brotman on the occasion of their yahrzeits. Kiddush lunch follows services.
