Breath Lab with RUACH

Sunday, May 4, 2025 6 Iyyar 5785

10:00 AM - 11:00 AMRUACH Studio at Temple Reyim (1860 Washington St, Auburndale)

As far back as the Garden of Eden, the Hebrew word for "breath" has also meant "spirit." In BREATH LAB, a RUACH original experience, we engage with the breath as a tool for spiritual practice, personal insight, and shared connection. We will explore a special theme — such as Empowerment, Rest, Freedom — then read and discuss a brief excerpt of Torah, in English, related to the theme, and practice gentle breathing exercises. Finally, self-guided quiet reflection, through journaling or meditation, allows the threads of practice to weave together, yielding personal clarity around the topic. You'll walk away with insights you can apply for ease and well-being in your day-to-day life. For more information about ruach visit ruachhealth.org

RUACH Facilitator Yaakov Ginsberg-Schreck (he/him) teaches as a fellow traveler, with a focus on growing personal and collective awareness of the breath. His classes draw on the elemental wisdom of Jewish tradition, his training as a Yoga teacher (200 hours, One Down Dog Studio), and hard-won life lessons from experience with anxiety and addiction. Practical spirituality is at the root of his teaching: As the founder of RUACH, he is also a regular RUACH student and grateful to the entire teaching team for the well of inspiration. When he’s not reading, writing, or teaching, Yaakov is most likely either working on RUACH’s evolution as an organization, relaxing at home, or in nature.
