Do you get lost in the Shabbat morning prayer service and want to improve your understanding of the flow and structure? Don’t understand the choreography and want to learn when and how to sit, stand, and bow? Don’t get the meaning of the prayers but want to connect deeper to the relevance of this ancient poetry? Join Akiva Nelson, CDT’s Rabbinic Intern, for the upcoming Learner’s Minyan. In this 4-week course, we will explore the meaning, history, choreography, and structure of the Shabbat morning prayer service.
You are welcome to join whether or not you’re a regular synagogue-goer, know Hebrew (no prior knowledge required), or have a Jewish educational background. No particular G-d belief required! We will likely touch on the words of the prayers themselves, but we won't be learning how to say the words of the prayers in Hebrew.
Feel free to email Akiva at a.nelson@dorsheitzedek.org if you have any questions.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
