The privacy associated with the work of a Hevra Kadisha has historically kept its members from talking about their work, with the result that many Jews today don't know about what a Hevra Kadisha does or how important it is in the life of the Jewish community. The Community Hevra Kadisha of Greater Boston invites you to a webinar to learn about our sacred work of caring for the dead. This webinar will introduce a basic orientation to what a Hevra Kadisha is, specifically the tahara ritual. We will share about our unique Hevra – why we have a public-facing mission, our work on gender – and how both synagogue membership and individual volunteers sustain our work.
