CDT’s GBIO Core Team wants to make sure that members are fully informed about what the Housing Justice Campaign entails so that we will be motivated to step into action when GBIO calls upon us in the coming months. If we want to get behind the needed state reinvestment in Public Housing, the passage of the Real Estate Transfer Fee legislation, the implementation of the MBTA Communities Act, and the increased Accessibility of housing for the mentally ill and returning citizens, we must learn what is involved in these efforts and the specific ways we can bring the people power of GBIO to bear upon the statewide and local housing challenges.
Dive into the details on Sunday, January 29 at 2PM with CDT Core Team members who will describe the problems, the proposed solutions, and the action steps that we hope will inspire many of you to get involved. We will be getting into the Housing Justice Campaign that is currently launching and sharing information about the strategies, "targets" (who we will be holding accountable) and budgetary aspects of both the state wide and the local efforts that are getting underway. The goal of our Teach-In is to educate ourselves in order to be prepared for action. If you have any questions about GBIO's activities, please be in touch with Louise Enoch at lpenoch@gmail.com.
