Family and Teen Programs 5781

We are offering family and youth services led by a wonderful group of educators on the first day of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur morning. 

Rosh Hashanah Tot Service
When:
September 19th, 9:00-9:30am
Who: Families with children in Kindergarten and below
Families with children aged 2-5 are invited to celebrate the birthday of the world with CDT’s Director of Congregational Learning Earnest Vener and CDT member and songleader Ora Gladstone! We will celebrate the creation of the world and this new year with songs, stories, and movement.  Grown-ups encouraged to be present with your little ones!

Rosh Hashanah Family Service for 1st - 3rd Graders & their Grown-ups
When:
September 19th, 9:30-10:15
Who: Families with children in 1st-3rd grade
Join CDT member and educator Esther Kohn for an interactive Rosh Hashanah celebration. There will be movement, song, stories, and opportunities to reflect.

Rosh Hashanah Family Service for 4th - 7th Graders & their Grown-ups
When:
September 19th, 9:45-10:45
Who: Families with children in 4th through-7th grade
Bring in the new year with song, stories, and time to reflect. Join Earnest, CDT member and song leader Ora Gladstone, and youth leaders for a joyful and interactive service.

Rosh Hashanah Teen Program for 8th Grade and Up
When:
September 19th, 10:00-10:45
Who: Preteens/teens in 8th grade or older
At this program there will be time to connect other teens and reflect on the Rosh Hashanah themes, guided by wonderful CDT educators. 

Kol Nidre Youth Program
When: September 27, following the chanting of kol nidre, which begins at 6:30
Who: Kids age 7 and up
After the chanting of Kol Nidre, kids aged seven and up are invited to join Director of Congregational Learning Earnest Vener for 45 minutes of interactive programming in a separate Zoom Sanctuary.

Yom Kippur Tot Service
When:
September 28th, 9-9:30am 
Who: Families with children in Kindergarten and below
Join Earnest and CDT member and musician Ora Gladstone for an interactive Yom Kippur experience. 

Yom Kippur Family Service for 1st-3rd Graders and their Grown-ups
When:
September 28th, 9:30-10:15am
Who: 1st-3rd graders and their adults
Join CDT member and educator Esther Kohn for an interactive Yom Kippur experience. Yom Kippur helps us pause, reflect on our actions in the past, and reset our arrow to aim for who we want to be in the new year. At this service we will sing, move, and reflect on the Yom Kippur themes of forgiveness, transformation, and abundant love.

Yom Kippur Family Service for 4th-7th Graders and their Grown-ups
When: September 28th, 9:45-10:45am
Who: 4th-7th graders and their adults
Join Earnest and CDT member and song leader Ora Gladstone for an interactive Yom Kippur service. We will sing, reflect, and learn practices to help us do the reflection we are called on to do on Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur Teen Program
When:
September 28th, 10:00-10:45am
Who: Preteens/teens in 7th-10th grade
Join other preteens/teens for a reflection on Yom Kippur themes with LilyFish Gomberg.

Yom Kippur Youth Mincha Programs
When: September 28th, 5:15-6:00pm
Who: Kids in K-4, and kids in grades 5 and up
Kids in grades K-4 are invited to join Earnest and CDT teen Izzy Feinfeld for a program that connects the Jonah Story to CDT’s Voter Mobilization Project. Kids in grades 5 and up are invited to join CDT youth leaders and CDT member and educator Esther Kohn for a Voter Mobilization teach-in.
