Middle East Subcommittee/Social Action

The Tikkun Olam committee formed a Middle East Subcommittee because of a perceived void in the current public discourse on the Middle East of moderate voices, and also because many members felt that the most meaningful action that they could take in "repairing the world" was in some way to work towards peace in the Middle East. The Middle East Subcommittee is also a founding and active member of the Jewish Congregational Network, an independent organization that sponsors events and disseminates timely information about the situation in the Middle East.

The Middle East Subcommittee is committed to the existence of Israel. Key goals are to create safe spaces where Dorshei Tzedek members can become educated about the situation in the Middle East, engage in respectful conversation on the issues, and sponsor educational events.
